For Madison Valley Residents
Jack Creek Road is a private, gated road providing a much shorter route between the Madison Valley/Ennis area and Big Sky. During ski season, qualifying Madison County residents can apply for recreational access through the Madison Valley Ski Club (MVSC).
Step 1 — Purchase a Big Sky Resort Season Pass
Purchase a qualifying Big Sky Resort season pass for the upcoming ski season.
Save your purchase confirmation/receipt or a copy of your season pass.
At least one member of the household must have a qualifying Big Sky Resort ski product.
Drivers applying for Jack Creek Road access must be 18 or older.

Step 2 — Gather Your Documents
Before starting the Jack Creek Road/Madison Valley Ski Club application, have digital copies of:
Big Sky Resort season-pass receipt or proof of qualifying ski product
Driver's license for each driver
Current vehicle insurance card
Proof of Madison County residency or property ownership
Acceptable proof of residency has included:
Property tax record
Recent utility or water bill
Lease showing the physical Madison County address
You may list up to two adult drivers and up to two vehicles on one application. Multiple drivers must provide proof that they reside at the same residence.
Step 3 — Apply Through Jack Creek Road / Madison Valley Ski Club:

Go to the Madison Valley Ski Club page
Read the current season's MVSC requirements.
Complete the online application.
Upload all required documentation.
Complete the required road-use/liability agreement.
Submit the application.
Important: Do not apply through Jack Creek Preserve. Jack Creek Preserve is separate from the recreational ski-season road-pass program.
Step 4 — Pay Through the Ennis Chamber of Commerce
After completing the Jack Creek/MVSC application:
Go to Ennis Chamber of Commerce:
Madison Valley Ski Club — Ennis Chamber
Use the Chamber's MVSC online payment link.
Pay the current-season Madison Valley Ski Club membership/Jack Creek Road access fee.
The Ennis Chamber handles the MVSC payment portion, while the Jack Creek Road system handles the application, documentation and approval.
Step 5 — Watch for Your Approval & Pass
The process typically generates several confirmations:
Confirmation that the Jack Creek Road application was received.
Notification after the documentation has been reviewed and approved.
Final email containing the Jack Creek Road pass once the application and payment are complete.
Print the final pass.
Display it in the windshield whenever traveling Jack Creek Road.
Keep the road/gate access information private.
Please allow 48 business hours once a complete application is received, although applicants should allow additional time near ski-season opening. We get to each application as quickly as possible. There’s no need to email or call several times.
Important Jack Creek Road Rules
Jack Creek Road access through the Madison Valley Ski Club is specifically for winter recreational access to Big Sky Resort. It is not a general year-round shortcut or a work-commuting pass.
Vehicles should be properly equipped for mountain winter conditions, including 4WD/AWD and appropriate winter tires. Drivers use the private road at their own risk.
A single MVSC pass may cover two registered vehicles, but only one of those vehicles may use the road at a time.
Do not share the pass or gate-access information with anyone else. Doing so can result in immediate loss of Jack Creek Road privileges.
The Easy Way to Remember It
1. BIG SKY → Buy the ski pass
2. JACK CREEK → Apply + upload documents
3. ENNIS CHAMBER → Pay the MVSC fee
4. EMAIL → Receive, print & display your Jack Creek Road pass
2026–2027 Season Note: This years application will be available in November with plenty of time for the start date of the 2026/2027ski season. Stand by for the updated application. If you attempt to pay or submit an application before it is officially open, you will have to start over.
